Gable in the Bahamas "Screen actor Clark Gable takes to the links of the Bahamas Country Club at Nassau in the Bahamas.
With him are Al Collins (left), golf professional at the club, Tommy Goodwin (second from right), Nassau golf champion and
New York State Amateur champion, and Jimmy Patton (right), assistant pro at the club. Gable arrived with his wife from New
York for a three-week winter vacation at the resort." 1/9/51 .....All
of us being Bahamians, another friend came across your "people" page and found the photo of Clarke Gable at the
old Bahamas Country Club and forwarded the info. to me as the golfer, Tommy Goodwin, striding next to him was our father!
Although Dad won nearly every championship he played in for 35 years he remained an amateur, (preferring not to go professional)
and had a great deal to do with the design and establishment of both the B.C.C and the Lyford Cay Club. Terry
